Who We Are

Rabbi Mayer and Chenchie Zarchi, co-founders of Central Synagogue Boston, began visiting Nantucket in 2017 to help nurture Jewish life for their community on the island. These visits laid the foundation for what is now Nantucket Synagogue, a permanent seasonal hub of Jewish life rooted in connection, tradition, and thoughtful engagement.

Nantucket Synagogue reflects the dynamic and cosmopolitan nature of the Jewish community on the island. Its members are deeply engaged in fields such as property development, finance, biotechnology, venture capital, law, and the arts.
